Sample of Express Yourself - N.W.A

The iconic 1970 funk anthem "Express Yourself" by Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band is one of the most sampled tracks in music history, appearing in over 140 songs. The most notable use of the sample is the 1989 hip-hop classic "Express Yourself" by N.W.A. Produced by Dr. Dre and DJ Yella, it loops the original's brass riff and rhythmic groove. Ironically, while the N.W.A version became a "radio-friendly" hit with no profanity, its lyrics actually criticize other rappers for making radio-friendly songs for mass appeal.
